Join us for a fun-loaded Lunar New Year family concert and story time!

During this event, your family will:

 

  • Enjoy the beautiful sound of the clarinet, performed by a professional musician from New Asian Chamber Music Society.
  • Immerse in an original Year of the Snake story written by Ya Ya Mandarin Seeds in Mandarin and English.
  • Listen to an English Lunar New Year story told by a talented Wise Wonder teacher.
  • Gather as a community to sing, move around, and laugh!

 

Musician: Yu-Ting Cheng, Clarinetist

Hailed for her “extraordinary virtuosity” (CHIMEI Arts Award), as well as for her “sublime playing” and “radiant tone” (Pulitzer Prize-winning composer John Corigliano), Dr. Cheng is an artist of uncommon musical versatility. She serves as Principal Clarinet of the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra and Music Director of the MusicON Festival and Chamber Orchestra.

 

New Asian Music Chamber Society (NACMS) 新亞室內樂協會

The New Asia Chamber Music Society (NACMS), the recipient of the 2016 Huang-Yu-Ting Memorial Award and New Music USA’s project grant, was founded in 2010 by an entrepreneurial group of young Asian-American virtuosi. Propelled by a shared passion for classical chamber music performance, the members of NACMS are prize winners of world-renowned international competitions, graduates from America’s most prestigious music schools, including The Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute, and appear regularly on major stages across the globe.
