Associate Director with NYS Certification 

Join Our Team as an Associate Education Director!

We are seeking an Associate Education Director to join our leadership team in overseeing daily operations for our Mandarin immersion preschool. The candidate must have New York State teaching certificate (Birth to Grade 2) and more than two years of teaching experience in an early childhood program.  

Key Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Support Operational Management – Support the day-to-day operations across the school, upholding high standards to ensure smooth, consistent processes that align with our school’s philosophy.

  • Guide Curriculum Implementation – Collaborate with the Chinese curriculum specialist to implement our curriculum effectively, ensuring lesson plans and activities reflect our teaching philosophy and meet developmental guidelines.

  • Monitor Progress and Program Quality – Conduct regular assessments to track student progress, evaluate program effectiveness, supervise student report writing, and support teachers to make improvements based on data and observations.

  • Foster Positive Relationships – Build strong, supportive relationships with children, families, and staff to promote a collaborative, productive, and joyful school community.

  • Maintain Safety and Inclusion – Ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all students, staff, and families, adhering to safety guidelines and fostering a nurturing atmosphere.

  • Provide Professional Development – Support ongoing staff development through training sessions, observations, and constructive feedback to encourage professional growth and teaching excellence.

  • Build School Partnerships - Represent our school in professional educators events and build strong relationships with other schools.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • New York State Teaching Certification  (Birth - Grade 2)

  • Master degree in Early Childhood Education

  • 2+ years of teaching experience in a preschool setting, preferably in NYC

  • Strong understanding of child development, early childhood education best practices, and curriculum development.

  • Open-minded and a good team player with strong people skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Mandarin verbal and written skills are a big plus

This position is set to begin full-time in June 2025. However, we are ideally looking to start the right candidate in a part-time capacity as soon as possible, allowing for a smooth transition and an opportunity to ease into the role. This flexible start will give you time to familiarize yourself with the team, responsibilities, and work environment before committing to full-time hours.
